I am the computer teacher, Mrs. Meyer.  I have Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a Computer Education minor from Concordia, Mequon.  I have been teaching here for 10 years, computers for the last 5.

Students are in the lab for 40 minutes, two or three times per week.  We have an Acceptable Use Policy that is in effect for the lab that all students are required to follow.

Computer class is run similar to other core courses with assignments, projects and tests.  Because of the nature of varying technologies available at home, I try to not assign work outside the lab.  This will depend on how well your student uses their lab time. 

I do not assign the students text books since they are available on-line.  Each class section has a link to their text book.  Assignments are emailed to me at dmeyer@hcl.org during class time or I will accept work from home.  The student’s email accounts are not accessible outside of the computer lab.  If a student is absent, I do expect them to access their assignments from the web and come to class prepared, any assignments being due the number of days after they have returned from absence.
